Salary: £25,000 – £28,000

Hours: 9AM – 5PM

The Role:

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to perform daily accounting tasks that will support our client’s admin team.

Accounting Assistant responsibilities include managing customer accounts queries, insurer reconciliation and customer refunds and ages debt. If you have an Accounting degree or a background in insurance accounts and are interested in gaining experience personal lines insurance, we’d like to meet you.

Ultimately, you will help the Admin department run smoothly, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile invoices/payments and identify discrepancies
  • Create and update expense reports
  • Process reimbursement forms
  • Enter financial transactions into internal databases
  • Check spreadsheets for accuracy
  • Maintain digital and physical financial records
  • Creating and monitoring a process for bad debt
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual audits

The Person:

  • 2 years experience within insurance accountancy
  • Knowledge of insurance system OpenGI
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
  • Familiarity with finance regulations
  • Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
  • Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
  • Organization skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
  • Ambitious and keen to learn
