The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Family Solicitor to join a highly regarded specialist family law practice in West Sussex.

This well-established and growing firm is recognised for providing exceptional client service and expert legal advice across a broad range of family law matters. The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative team that values professionalism, empathy and a constructive approach to family law.

This role would suit a solicitor with 5+ years’ PQE who is looking to handle high-quality privately funded work while enjoying genuine career progression and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

You will manage your own caseload of privately funded family law matters, including:

  • Divorce and separation
  • Financial remedy proceedings
  • Private children matters
  • Cohabitation disputes
  • Prenuptial and postnuptial agreements
  • Domestic abuse matters

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Providing practical, clear and empathetic legal advice to clients
  • Managing cases from instruction through to conclusion
  • Drafting legal documents, court applications and correspondence
  • Liaising with clients, barristers, courts and third parties
  • Supporting junior members of the team where appropriate
  • Maintaining high standards of client care and file management
  • Contributing to the continued success and growth of the practice

Candidate Requirements

To be considered, you will:

  • Be a qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
  • Have a minimum of 5 years’ PQE in family law
  • Have experience managing your own family law caseload
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and client care skills
  • Be organised, proactive and detail-oriented
  • Possess strong drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills
  • Be able to work independently whilst contributing positively to a team environment
  • Share a client-focused and constructive approach to family law

Resolution membership or accreditation would be advantageous but is not essential.
