Overview
Our client is a West London based law firm looking to appoint a confident, proactive Real Estate Lawyer to join their successful team. You will provide legal and practical advice and assistance to clients on wide range of commercial and residential property matters.
Salary: £50,000 to £65,000
The Role
To provide high quality legal advice on a range of real estate matters primarily to business or commercial clients. Core areas of work and experience to include:
- Residential development work acting for a range of small house builders on site acquisition and related planning matters and with a focus on “back garden” developments, option agreements and conditional contracts;
- Plot Sales acting for house builder clients;
- Commercial leases, acting primarily for tenants and small business owners;
- Commercial financing, acting primarily for a range of borrowers but also drafting security documents where required;
- Mix of some residential conveyancing for business / commercial / property investor clients;
- Mix of licences to alter, deeds of variation and general landlord and tenant matters;
- Potential for some exposure to Asset Purchase Acquisitions;
- To provide an excellent standard of “Client Care” and quality of service at all times;
- To proactively deliver accurate and up-to-date legal advice to clients that takes account of the commercial pressures on clients;
- Perform work accurately, reliably and in accordance with the company’s quality and risk procedures;
- To work as a team member;
- To meet profit cost targets and other agreed targets in areas such as the generation of new business;
- Keep up to date on all changes in the law and practice within the areas of work;
- To assist the firm in implementing its Business Plan; and
- To participate in the marketing of the firm.
The Person
- Broad range of experience in dealing with commercial and residential property matters as identified above.
- 3 years PQE.
- Ability to work with confidence, managing own caseload (with minimal supervision).
- Good computer literacy, including knowledge of case management systems.
- Ability to generate fee income to a set target based a multiple of their salary.
- Clear understanding of Money Laundering Regulations, Solicitors Account Rules and other regulatory obligations.
- Previous experience working in a Lexcel and CQS accredited firm desirable but not essential.
- Strong planning and organisational skills and an ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
